ANNIVERSARY DATE

ANNIVERSARY DATE
TIME TO DO A NEW RHYME I THINK.

Wednesday, 4 February 2009

A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO NOW FRIENDS I DECIDED I WOULD GO.

OUT TO A NEW TOWN TO DO A SHOP ONE WHICH I DON'T WELL KNOW.

JUST TO PASS THE TIME OF DAY AS SOMETIMES THEY ARE LONG.

I THOUGHT A CHANGE FROM THE DECORATING AND I WASN'T FEELING THRONG.

WELL I CAME UPON A HOSPICE SHOP AND THOUGHT I'D HAVE A BROWSE.

NOT FOR ANYTHING IN PARTICULAR BUT SOME PICTURES DID AROUSE.

MY ATTENTION WHEN I SAW THEM PLACED UPON THE FLOOR.

A SET OF TWELVE BY TEN INCHES AND IN THE SET WERE FOUR.

I PICKED ONE UP TO HAVE A LOOK AND FOUND THE ARTISTS NAME.

ON THE PRINTS I RECOGNISED IT AND SHE HAS QUITE A FAME.

FOR PAINTING WONDERFUL PICTURES AND SELLING THEM ONLINE .

ONLY PRINTS IN PASTEL COLOURS I THOUGHT THESE LOOK JUST FINE.

FOR DECORATION UP MY STAIRCASE AS THE FRAMES WERE PINE .

WITH MY WOODWORK STAINED THE SAME THEY'D MATCH UP IN A LINE.

THE PRINTS ARE OF " FELICITY WISHES" A STICK LIKE ANGEL GIRL.

FLUTTERING AMONGST THE FLOWERS WAVING HER WAND IN TWIRLS.

SPREADING ALL HER WISHES AMONGST WHAT'ERE SHE SHE'S.

I ASKED THE PRICE WHAT A SUPRIZE I'LL TAKE THEM OH! YES PLEASE.

NINETY NINE PENCE EACH THATS ALL GOOD GRIEF HOW CHEAP THE FOUR.

WHAT A BARGAIN I HAD SPOTTED THERE UPON THE FLOOR .

AS I CALL THIS MY SECOND HOME FOLKS EXPENSIVE I DON'T BUY.

TO PLACE INSIDE IT BUT I MAKE IT NICE WELL AT LEAST I TRY.

SO THE LADY WRAPPED THEM UP IN LOVELY TISSUE JUST AS IF.

THEY WERE BRAND NEW POPPED THEM IN MY SHOPPING BAG IN A JIF.

SHE PLACED THEM GENTLY I WAS REALY PLEASED WITH MY NEW PICS.

NICE WIDE FRAMES IN PINE AND NOT A MARK OR ANY CLICKS .

ON THE WOODWORK OF THE FRAMES OR THE GLASS SO NEW.

HERES A PICTURE OF THEM THAT I TOOK TO SHOW TO YOU.

WHEN I GOT HOME I LOOKED ON GOOGLE AND YES MOTHERHEN WAS RIGHT.

EMMA THOMSONS LITTLE FELICITY SERIES IN MY SIGHT.

FRAMED THESE FOUR COST TWENTY ONE POUND NINETY NINE PENCE EACH.

WHOO-HOO AT LAST A BARGAIN AND I THOUGHT THEY LOOKED A TREAT.

THEY TOOK AWAY THE BARE LOOK ON MY STAIRCASE AND I SEE.

THEM THROUGH THE OPEN SPINDLES WHEN I'M SAT ON MY SETTEE.

SO WHAT A BARGAIN HUNT I HAD I'LL VISIT THERE AGAIN.

A TEN MINUTE RIDE IS ALL IT TAKES SO IT'S NOT SUCH A PAIN.

TRAVELLING MILES AND I GO FREE WITH MY PENSIONERS PASS.

IT'S THE FIRST TIME I HAVE USED IT HAD IT TWO YRS THIS OLD LASS.

SO OFF I WILL BE TRIPPING MORE WHEN THE WEATHERS NICE.

TO SEE IF I CAN BAG ANOTHER BARGAIN AND SUPRIZE.

MYSELF WITH WHAT YOU CAN BUY IN THESE SHOPS FOR A GOOD CAUSE.

I LOVE MY LITTTLE PAINTINGS WHAT EMMA THOMSON DRAWS.

WHEN I TIRE OF THEM MY GRANDAUGHTER SAYS SHE WANTS THE LOT.

SO DIDN'T I DO WELL THAT DAY THIS BARGAIN THAT I GOT.

AH! WELL NOW I HAVE WROTE MY RHYME I'LL SETTLE DOWN AND READ.

MY BRAND NEW FAT FREE DIET BOOK I ALSO BOUGHT HE-HE.

ONE POUND NINETY- NINE AND IT IS SUCH A LOVELY BOOK.

AGAIN LIKE NEW SO OFF I GO I'M GOING TO TAKE A LOOK.

SEE WHAT I CAN MAKE TOMORROW FOR MY LUNCH FAT FREE.

WHY DON'T YOU TRY BARGAIN HUNTING JUST LIKE ME HE-HE .

I'LL CLOSE NOW SENDING LOVE TO ALL HOPE YOUR FEELING FINE.

TAKE CARE GOD BLESS FROM MOTHERHEN AND "MY SIMPLE RHYMES".

### Emma Thomson grew up in Canterbury, Kent, and was inspired to paint from a very young age by her creative family. Her father had many artistic talents and her mother’s father was also a painter.####

You did get a wonderful treasure in your shopping for sure. They are so bright and cheery and should bring you many smiles. I hope you do get back there. I've never had the luck of finding something as nice as that but I love to browze around those kind of shops just to see... Of course I always manage to buy something too. Your 'second' home is becoming quite nice with the decorating you have done. I hope the weather is improving there for your coming trip. 'On Ya'-ma

Being sort of slow here, I don't actually know what 99 pence is..but I am guessing it is sort of like our dollar??? lol You always find the sweetest things to decorate with! I just love the way you do things around your home Kath. My, that is great having a free pass to ride...we here in the US are not that fortunate. :-(
I think the USA needs to take a few hints from your country on the health and elderly side.
Take care and God bless.
love,
carlene

I've heard of people getting bargains from charity shops, but this is the first time it's someone I know. You are indeed a clever girl, Kath. Lovely pictures, expensively framed.
You don't look as ifr you need the diet book though lol

I've seen Ms. Thompson's work in catalogs here in the States. You did indeed get a bargain. (I'd say your savings paid for the cookbook.)

I just wrote a screed about transport that I'm moving to my own blog. Glad you had such a good trip with such enjoyable results.

I am sorry to read about the problem with water being unavailable at your home. Also the pipe break at Rooster's home. Wishing you a Happy Valentines Day. The framed prints will look great at your home. I am going to get some physical therapy for my hip on Monday. I had it x-rayed as for several weeks I could not do the walking I usually do and it was painful trying to sleep. I am much better now and walking fine, so the weather must have brought it on bad this year for the first time. mark
